Tom Tykwer’s big city film captures Berlin citylife in the 90s. The pulsating soundtrack is unforgettable. Visually the film impressed with its rapid camera movements and a mix of stylistic twists. After „Das Boot”, it was the most successful German film in the USA. Since then music videos and series have been based on „Run Lola Run” (such as a „Simpsons” episode). The British paper The Guardian wrote: „‚Run Lola Run’ is a unique phenomenon in this industry full of hype. A hip German movie. A sentence that is almost a contradiction in itself - after the cinema of Fassbinder and Herzog in the 70s.”
